Blocks vs. Nodes
Hello. I strongly feel against the use of Nodes instead of Blocks on this page but, of course, there are others who feel the other way around. So I'd like to discuss this first before making any other edits in that regard.
I believe Blocks would have been more appropriate for this article because the target audience of this wiki are Minetest players, who may or may not be developers themselves. Some, if not all, would also have been familiar with MineCraft, where the term Block is also in use. Developers have a separate wiki at dev.minetest.net, although even there, Nodes are also sometimes referred to as Blocks, especially when in the context of "block-types". I think, for the sake of simplicity and user-friendliness, we should tone down the technical jargon and continue referring to them as Blocks. After all, since it looks like a block and acts like a block, I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be called a block.
However, I'd also like to hear feedback from those who prefer the use of the term Nodes. If there are no objections after a week, though, I'll go ahead and revert the changes of revision 2823. Salamangkero 00:29, 9 June 2013 (CDT)
- I totaly agree with this. IMO the use of Nodes instead of Blocks is in general a bad try to differ from Minecraft. Minetest differs in so many ways from Minecraft, that it is just ridiculous to do so. Lets stay at Blocks, everyone knows what it means and where to look up.
- The usage of Nodes makes it unnecessary complicated. --BlockMen 19:10, 15 June 2013 (CDT)
