== Description ==

Rats were mobs that randomly wandered on the map. They appeared underground in caves or on the ground at night. They could also jump one block high.

Rats could be collected, placed, and could be [[smelting|cooked]] in a [[furnace]] and give 3 [[Health|hearts]] when eaten. To eat a cooked rat, a player had to place it on the ground by right-clicking, then right-click it again. 

They were originally only hacked in for testing purposes and thus were never finished.

As of 0.4.0, they are only available as an item obtainable in Creative mode or with the <code>/giveme</code> [[Server commands#Player actions|command]].
